My Story
I am a native Houstonian whose Texas roots date back to my great-grandparents on either side of my family, having moved there around the turn of the century from Eastern Europe. Being passionate about making an impact and helping others, I had a decision to make on whether to choose to practice medicine (as my father and grandfather had done), or to focus on spiritual care. With the Lubavitcher Rebbe and a number of figures in my yeshiva years as mentors, I chose the latter.
After completed my Semicha (Rabbinic ordination) in Venice, Italy, I served as Rabbi in the Shul in the Park in Glasgow, Scotland, and later taught children, university students and adults in Johannesburg, South Africa, Toronto, and Brooklyn, including 6 years in Yeshiva Darchei Menachem and 3 years as Director of Education for the Chabad Student Center of Columbia University.
In 2010, I moved with my wife Dassy on Shlichus to Raleigh, NC. During my 12 years there, I had the opportunity to work with children, teens, adults and seniors while running the Hebrew School and Camp Gan Israel and teaching classes from the Jewish Learning Institute and the Florence Melton School of Adult education and later transitioned to senior Rabbi of Congregation Sha’arei Israel. I also would visit and counsel Jewish inmates while serving as the contract Rabbi at the federal prison in Butner, NC. Working tirelessly to grow the shul and Jewish community was truly gratifying and fulfilling, yet as our children’s Jewish educational needs required more than Raleigh could offer, we made the decision to move to South Florida to give them a top notch Jewish education.
In addition to coaching, I now work as a behavioral consultant in area Jewish schools while teaching at the Rohr Bais Chaya Academy. Whatever the age and stage of Jewish life, my goal is to impart the timeless beauty and
depth of Torah values in a clear and relevant manner. I would be honored to meet with you and explore how I can positively impact your parenting journey, collaborating to achieve tangible success in your child’s emotional, social, and spiritual development.
